Rentals are an ideal method for discovering whether this sport is for you prior to making a buying decision. It's also a great way to have fun if you are on vacation with friends or family, or if you are just looking for something different to do when you have some spare time available.

Some of our resellers offer a rental facility and a list of participating resellers can be found below.

Junior stilts are available for children or light adults weighing between 30 to 50 kg (65 to 110 lbs). The minimum age is 10 years although this could be lower if the user's weight is at least 30 kg. A pair of Junior stilts will allow you to jump up to 1 metre in the air and take steps of 1.5 metres. They are ridiculously easy to learn on and allow you to run at crazy speeds.

From 50 kg onwards you will be in the adult category. The performance of a pair of adult stilts is significantly more impressive. You can jump up to 2 metres in the air (the current world record is 2.8 metres), perform tricks, flips, and run up to 40 km/h!

The first time you rent a pair of stilts a mini-beginners course lasting between 20 to 30 minutes will be compulsory. This course is necessary so that you find your balance quickly and can walk unaided. You will also be taught to trot, run, and jump. There is no extra charge for this tuition. We consider it important to ensure you don't end up hurting yourself or even someone else.

Wearing safety gear is compulsory in order to avoid hurting yourself. If you already have your own safety gear you are welcome to bring it with you. If not, a full combination (helmet, elbow pads, knee pads, and wrist guards) are also available for rental.

First of all, it is imperative that you dress properly. To achieve that, You will need to wear a tough pair of shoes like trainers or Vans, and a pair of fairly loose fitting trousers or shorts. Jeans are too tight and hence not recommended. Whatever you do, do NOT arriver wearing sandals, plimsoles, or any other kind of shoe that would be inappropriate for this sport. The stilts are equipped with snowboard bindings which clamp your feet down to prevent your heel from lifiting. If you wear soft shoes the bindings will cause you pain.

It is important to use a pair of stilts adapted to the weight of the user. Jumping stilts are high precision instruments. If you are too light, the spring won't respond, or very little. If you are too heavy, the spring's power will be severely reduced and you risk breaking it.

Tips for beginners:
- Walk slowly progressing at your own rhythm. Don't compare yourself to others around you.
- In your first session, it is not recommended to try this sport alone, nor to jump or run unless authorised by your trainer. This is why you are obliged to begin with a course organised by one of our trainers.
- Sit on something as high as a bar stool so that you do not have to struggle when standing up.
- The shoe (snowboard) bindings must have the buckles on the outside of your foot or they will rub against each other when walking and come undone.
- To keep your balance you should always keep moving unless you can rest against or hold onto something.

Getting back up after a fall:
Normally, a beginner cannot get up after falling without the aid of someone. This is why we advise you never to go out alone during your first few sessions. If you are alone and take a fall, you will have to take your stilts off before you will be able to get up again. In the event your trainer has already taught you how to get up after a fall, you should have no problem as it is actually quite simple once you know the required technique.

Taking off your jumping stilts:
- Make sure you are seated quite high (about 1 metre off the ground).
- Undo the shoe bindings by pressing on the button or, if they have a black lever, lift that up and then slide the ladder strap out of the buckle.
- Behind your knee is a strap that holds you tight against the foam covered arch. Undo that strap and lift your leg out of the stilt. Please remember to close the shoe bindings immediately afterwards.
